Located in the Belém district of Lisbon, the Hyatt Regency Lisbon offers 204 modern spacious and fully-furnished rooms and suites, some with a balcony overlooking the breathtaking Tagus River. The hotel has an on-site Serenity spa and a state-of-the-art gym that offers personalised health and wellness programs. Guests can access a rooftop bar, lounge, meeting rooms, and parking facilities. On-site there is also the Viseversa restaurant, a Portuguese Bistro with various dining options, from hearty meals to light bites, complemented by a curated selection of drinks. Accommodation at Hyatt Regency Lisbon

We arrived via Uber from the airport to check in, which was seamless, we then made our way to our Deluxe Suite River View with Queen Bed. This fully equipped suite offers 51 to 69 square meters of space with a private balcony facing the Tagus River, a separate living room with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette and a bathroom. There was more than enough space for two of us and then some, it was lovely to have a separate living room and kitchenette so we could make our own cups of coffee and with the weather being a bit drizzly it was great to have a washer/dryer on hand.

The room is well appointed with all mod cons including a dishwasher, washer and dryer, HDTV, complimentary Wi-Fi, climate control, Lavazza coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and refrigerator and freezer to keep our complimentary mineral water nice and cool. The bed was super comfy with a Hyatt Luxury Eurotop mattress and premium linens, and the bathroom had everything you would need including a separate bath and river fall shower.

Inspired by the famous Portuguese discoveries and the contemporary influences of Lisbon all the rooms feature calming blues and blends of oak wood. Our suite was very modern with clean lines and calm hues of blue that echoed the outdoor view of the Tagus River, even in the rain!

Located close to the elevators our suite was easily accessible from the lobby, where the on-site Viseversa restaurant is located, and also had direct access to the spa so you could seamlessly move from suite to spa in your fluffy robe and slippers.

Food & Drink at Hyatt Regency Lisbon

We arrived at the Hyatt Regency Lisbon just in time for lunch, so after checking in and having a refresh we headed straight to Viseversa. Viseversa is a Portuguese Bistro nestled in an elegant and inviting atmosphere just off the main lobby. At Viseversa every dish is crafted with a meticulous selection of fresh, locally sourced produce, allowing guests to savour the authentic essence of Portuguese cuisine.

We were shown to our table by Mia, who explained the menu and then we were greeted by Rodrigo, who organised a lovely refreshing glass of Palpite Reserve White. We ordered Paillard de Fango; chargrilled chicken with rocket and tomatoes with a sweet balsamic reduction and pumpkin with cashew and watercress, which was quite small but very tasty. Both dishes were the perfect lunch choice being light and healthy options, and matched well with the delicate Palpite Reserve White.

We went back to Viseversa for dinner, this time being shown to our table by Herik. We also met Philip, the Restaurant Manager and Tiago Silva, the Executive Chef that evening. After a drink at the bar, we started with the seabass, which was super citrusy and fresh, and the beef, which was hearty thanks to the size of the portion. We moved on to the Tiger prawn with saffron sauce and mango salsa, the prawn was meaty while the sauce added an umami flavour balancing with the sweetness of the mango salsa. I opted for the Octopus, this was perfectly cooked, not slimy or overdone, however, there was too much citrus which slightly overpowered the octopus.

Hyatt Regency Lisbon also has ZEST, a bright, relaxing place for delicious healthy meals made with fresh local ingredients. Dishes here include superfood salads, signature homemade dressings, creative toasts and fresh natural juices and smoothies. Then on the roof you will find the ICON Rooftop & Bar, which offers the perfect backdrop to soak in panoramic views of the Tagus River, as well as the April 25th Bridge and Cristo Rei. Here you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail from the wine and spirits menu at this upscale bar, unfortunately, due to the weather this was shut during our visit but the view was amazing so I can imagine it being a great hangout spot in spring and summer.

Spa at Hyatt Regency Lisbon

Located in the basement of the hotel you will find the expansive Serenity Spa. The 1,000-square-metre spa at Hyatt Regency Lisbon offers a range of treatments and wellness programs tailored to each guest’s needs. The indoor swimming pool is part of the Thermal Oasis of the Serenity Spa and guests have complimentary access to the entire wet facilities.

We headed to the Serenity Spa for an afternoon of wellness and relaxation after sightseeing in Lisbon, it was the perfect place to unwind, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. We used the wet facilities, including the sauna and steam room but do note you must wear a swim cap in the wet facilities, not just the pool, due to the chemicals and the floor in the wet area is super slippy so I advise you to take flip flops.

After using the spa facilities we had a lovely couples massage, which was super unique using local products and even Faddo music as the background music. The room was dimly light and at the perfect temperature, the massage was thorough but relaxing, so much so that afterwards in the beautiful reflection area we both almost fell asleep! With a cup of herbal tea and a cookie, we snoozed in the dreamy relaxation area not wanting to leave and head back to reality.

Overall, the Hyatt Regency Lisbon is a clean, modern and well-located hotel with a good restaurant and beautiful spa. It is the perfect hub from which to explore Lisbon whatever the season, and with the facilities on-site and in the rooms your stay will be a comfortable and luxurious one.
